Imports

The Import function in KatanaPIM allows for the seamless uploading of product data.

Before initiating an import, it's essential to set up a Feed Mapping. This step ensures that KatanaPIM accurately recognizes and aligns each element from your import file with the corresponding attributes in the system.

For a successful import, your feed file needs to adhere to one of the following formats and must include at least the basic product data outlined below:

Formats: XML, XLSX, CSV, JSON
Required Data: SKU, Name

Coupled with the Scheduled Import option, this feature facilitates the automated integration of data from multiple external sources, including ERP systems, enhancing efficiency and data consistency.

Creating an Import

To start a new import

Go to the Import Page (Import/exports>Imports).
Click on the 'New Import' tab.
Complete the required fields.
Press 'Start' to queue your import task. It will begin after current tasks are completed or at the scheduled time.
Track progress in the Import Log on the same page.

Fields explained

Type: Select from your pre-saved Feed Mappings in the dropdown menu, necessary for the import.

URL: Add URLs in this format:

Web address: https://demo.katanapim.com/uploaded/productfeed.csv‍
FTP address: ftp://[USERNAME]:[PASSWORD]@[HOST/FILEPATH]
‍Example: ftp://katana_ftp:AaciCsavQ23W@katanapim.com/ftp/feed/productfeed.csv

File: You can also upload local files directly from your computer.
